IAM celebrates as three clients win awards (28th April, 2008)

Dublin-based International Airline Marketing (IAM) – Ireland’s largest airline general sales agent – is celebrating the success of three of its airline clients in the prestigious Cargo Airline of the Year Awards, staged by Air Cargo News.

This year’s awards attracted over 19000 votes from freight forwarders in around 90 countries. IAM clients won no less than three of the seven regional awards: South African Airways was named Best African Cargo Airline, American Airlines was voted Best North American Cargo Airline, and Jet Airways was dubbed Best Central Asian Cargo Airline.

Says IAM’s MD Ian McCool, who was one of some 700 who attended the glittering awards dinner in London: “We were delighted to see three of our client airlines recognised with awards, and we extend our congratulations to them all on this major achievement.

“These are three significant carriers who provide access to three significant Irish export markets, so this result is very meaningful to the local market. Ireland’s focus on high-value manufacturing means airfreight matters greatly, and the quality of air services is therefore an essential part of maintaining our country’s competitiveness on the world stage.

“At IAM we have worked hard to assemble a portfolio of quality carriers, and these results endorse our policy. We hope that our own obsessive attention to customer service has helped win our clients the Irish vote, and in turn played a part in their success in the Cargo Airline of the Year awards.”

IAM is the core company in a growing aviation services group whose activities include airline representation, air cargo handling, air cargo trucking, and training services. IAM is also the exclusive Irish member and co-founder of EGSAC, the world’s largest cargo GSSA network, with 80 stations in 35 countries.
